Quarantine Q&A Pt.II
It has been nearly six months since I’ve seen some of you and our transition to the new office on 6th & Taylor has made seeing everyone all the more special. As you come back to the office, you may notice six new faces!
Some of these folks have been here with us the entire quarantine and others are more recent to our team, but regardless, we wanted to welcome and introduce them by spotlighting them on our blog.
These fantastic people indulged us by sharing their personalities and their version of quarantine with us – we can’t wait to see them in person and get to know them even better!

What new hobbies have you picked up during the stay-at-home order? Since the stay at home order I’ve picked up drawing/painting using Procreate. It’s been nice having the time to do something I used to do daily, and being able to draw/paint digitally keeps paint from getting all over my apartment!
Who are your at-home coworkers?I just adopted my Aussiedoodle, Millie, back in March. She is definitely my best quarantine purchase. You can find her sleeping on an air vent or playing with my moms dog, Louie.
What is your favorite podcast or playlist that you’ve been listening to to keep you sane? The podcast “My Favorite Murder” is great if you love true crime stories!
Any new recipes and/or cocktails you’ve tried out? Not necessarily new, but I’ve had a lot of Aperol Spritzes during the stay at home order.
Do you have any guilty pleasure shows/movies? My current guilty pleasure show is Love Island, It’s like the British version of The Bachelor but 10x more dramatic. It can definitely kill some brain cells.

What are new hobbies have you picked up during the stay-at-home order? My new hobby I have picked up during the stay-at-home order is going to the dark. Due to the order, I try to go to different parks and outdoor areas as often as I can.
Who are your at-home coworkers? My at-home coworker is my dog, Kobe! He is an English Springer Spaniel, and he is three months old.
Any shows/podcasts/books/other series etc. you’ve finished binging and recommend? Mindhunter on Netflix!
Who is your favorite designer? One of my favorite designers is Virgil Abloh. He is a designer and fashion designer. He has an interesting outlook on design and creative solutions to common everyday items.
Do you have any personal goals you’ve been working on this year? A personal goal I have been working towards this year is logging AXP hours and studying for licensure. Additionally, I have also recently started to study for the GRE. I plan to attend graduate school at some point in the future.

What has become your favorite local place to get takeout? The BeHive in East Nashville. It’s an amazing deli that makes some super creative versions of your favorite foods and makes them totally vegan! Their hot “chicken” sandwich is amazing.
Who are your at-home coworkers? Scout (cat) and my boyfriend Alan (human). 😊
Any shows/podcasts/books/other series etc. you’ve finished binging and recommend? Devs on Hulu. Alex Garland (who wrote and directed Ex Machina, Annihilation, 28 Days Later, etc) created it. If you like heady concepts like if we really have free will or not you should check it out….if it is really even your choice…!?
Any new recipes and/or cocktails you’ve tried out? I’m always a fan of experimenting with cocktails at home! Recently I made a watermelon paloma cocktail. You just blend up a few cubes of watermelon, add that in with tequila, rosè, and top with sparkling water! Be sure to rim your glass with some Tajin if you like to mix salty with sweet!
Who is your favorite designer? My favorite graphic designer is Stefan Sagmeister. I love his experiential and large-scale installation pieces. He creates graphics out of things like post-it notes and then gives the stagnant piece movement by blowing a fan the installation. I love the idea of elevating a 2D artform like graphic design and bringing it into the physical world.

What new hobbies have you picked up during the stay-at-home order? Not a hobby but more so like a routine. I’m on a baby graveyard shift from 2 am until work time. Calix almost always wakes up at 2 am in the morning to feed. He will then wake up every 1.5 hours after that so I really don’t get much sleep during those times. When the clock hits 6:30 am, I get up and replenish our baby cart and stock up for the day.
Who are your at-home coworkers? My coworkers are my lovely wife, who also works from home, our two pets: Lexie (Pomeranian) and Sim (Shih Tzu) and of course, the newest addition to the family and the reason for our sleep deprivation, our rainbow baby, Calix Alonzo.
What have you been able to do that you haven’t gotten to do in a long time while staying at home? I converted one of our bedrooms into an office space and was finally able to organize and clean it. Also, I have been collecting Gundam and Zoids model kits to use as decorations/display for Calix’s room. Before the pandemic, I never had the time to build them but since we have been staying at home, I was able to complete all of them. Now I just need to organize them in the baby’s room.
Do you have any guilty pleasure shows/movies? For background noise, I have been playing all the episodes of Family Guy.
Do you have any personal goals you’ve been working on this year? I have been studying and working on getting my licensure. Also, trying to stay fit and work on my arms. Calix is getting bigger and heavier by the day! Another goal is to save up for a bigger vehicle. Strollers, car seats, baby essentials, etc. take up a good amount of space. With the baby, my wife, and two pets, we are going to need a bigger car for travel.
