Westhaven

Since 2011, Smith Gee Studio has played a central role in shaping Westhaven and its Town Center in Franklin, Tennessee—contributing a diverse mix of architecture that brings the community’s vision to life. From condominiums, townhomes, and live/work buildings that define the walkable streetscape, to carefully crafted interiors for neighborhood staples like Front Street Tavern, SGS’s work is embedded in the fabric of Westhaven.

The studio’s recent projects continue this legacy, including two new lakefront retail and restaurant buildings and a new clubhouse for the community pool—expected to be completed soon. Each project is rooted in the principles of Traditional Neighborhood Development and held to the high design standards set by Westhaven’s developers, reinforcing the neighborhood’s character while enhancing its vibrancy and inclusivity.

Among these contributions, the Westhaven West Amenity stands out as a thoughtfully designed recreational hub that elevates the community’s social and leisure offerings. Positioned between the golf club and tennis courts, the facility doubles as a venue for swim meets—with its regulation-sized pool—and a gathering space for everyday enjoyment. Features include private cabanas, lounge and game areas, a food counter, an entertainment lawn for live performances, and even dedicated golf cart parking—Westhaven’s preferred way to roll.

Supporting amenities like separate restrooms and a tennis office enhance the usability of adjacent courts, while the building’s traditional architectural style complements the surrounding neighborhood. Together, these projects showcase SGS’s commitment to placemaking—delivering spaces that inspire connection, reflect community values, and support the rhythm of daily life.
