Wedgewood Houston (WeHo) is an urban neighborhood just south of downtown Nashville. Deemed an “urban magnet” by the Urban Land Institute, CORE Development is crafting an artisan-centered live/make/work/play district as an extension of the area’s recognized arts, manufacturing and industrial history. Six10 Merritt is one of their first projects in this mixed-use neighborhood.
Consisting of three individual buildings holding a total of 14 townhomes and 6 live-work units, each with its own garage, there is also 4191 SF of commercial space spread among the buildings. The design of the project reflects the ‘maker culture’ already present in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, with extensive use of industrial materials and first floor flex space within the townhouse units. Re-defining the street community, the project’s surfaces combine the conventional metal and nearby historic brick warehouse architecture to excite the neighborhood.
