Smith Gee Studio lead the Concept Master Planning effort to create a new vision for the proposed town center at Berry Farms, a 600 acre traditional neighborhood development located in Franklin, TN. SGS, in collaboration with the project consultants (Historical Concepts/Kiser Vogrin Design/Kimley Horn), propose a mixed-use village with pedestrian-friendly streets, unique outdoor gathering spaces, and an active commercial ‘main street’. The town center includes approximately 330 residential units, 100,000 sf of commercial, and 250,000 sf of office space. A new public green serves as the hub for the local community and helps transition the proposed development to the pre-existing neighborhood retail. SGS was awarded the design for a majority of the architectural services to bring the proposed vision of a traditional neighborhood town center to life.
