Berry Farms Residential

On the southern edge of Franklin, Tennessee, Berry Farms redefines neighborhood living through a master-planned Traditional Neighborhood Development that combines housing, retail, office, and amenities in a walkable, community-focused environment. At the heart of this vision are the townhomes—carefully designed to bring density, charm, and architectural character to the streetscape.

Smith Gee Studio led the design of the first 46 townhomes, setting the tone for residential life at Berry Farms with classic detailing, front porches, and thoughtful proportions that reflect the area’s traditional Southern roots. These homes, along with 27 condominium units, four retail buildings, and The Goddard School preschool, laid the foundation for a neighborhood that balances modern needs with timeless design principles.

Working closely with the client, the Town Architect (Historical Concepts), and the Architectural Review Committee, SGS helped establish a cohesive visual language for Berry Farms—one that supports the City of Franklin’s broader goals for growth, community identity, and placemaking.
