Just south of Franklin, Tennessee, Berry Farms is a master-planned Traditional Neighborhood Development where residents can live, work, shop, and connect—all within a walkable community. Smith Gee Studio has played a major role in shaping this neighborhood, designing more than 100 buildings across a range of uses—from townhomes and condos to retail spaces, offices, and signature amenities.

Among the most distinctive contributions are true live-work units that blend residential and commercial functions into a single building. With separate entrances for living and business, these spaces offer flexibility and convenience for residents who want to integrate work and home life. Designed according to TND guidelines, the building features rich architectural details—cornices, varied masonry, and carefully composed facades—that give it character, signal commercial activity, and reinforce the scale and rhythm of the street. It’s not just functional—it’s a cornerstone of what makes Berry Farms feel like a real, lived-in place.
