PROJECT INFORMATION
Ashland & Clarksville Pike is a mixed-use, infill development located in Nashville, TN. The Plan is the final result in a long process that involved the help of many key parties, including Councilwoman Toombz, Local Community members, and Metro Planning Staff.
The proposed Plan is site responsive, with the development organized around a central spine street that links Clarksville Pike to Ashland. The new street slowly meanders up the existing hilltop to provide a gently sloped streetscape that is pedestrian friendly. The residential buildings are positioned and oriented to step down the hillside to help mitigate grade change and reduce the amount of unsightly site walls.
A publicly accessible central outdoor gathering space is located at the heart of the development and serves as an ‘Outdoor Living Room’ for the residents and community. A ‘festival street’ acts like an extension of the central gathering space and is designed to be temporarily closed off to expand the usable size and to host larger scale community events.
