    Senior Interior Designer II

    We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer II to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in leading design efforts for major projects while ensuring seamless coordination with consultants and team members. The Senior Interior Designer II will take on key responsibilities that range from design conceptualization to construction administration. They will be responsible for fostering team collaboration and guiding less experienced designers while also driving the project’s technical aspects.
    The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Revit, presentation InDesign, and possess the ability to lead both in-person presentations and internal team tasks. The role requires exceptional skills in construction documentation, construction administration, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) specifications, and a strong foundation in design principles, particularly in hospitality environments.
    In addition, the Senior Interior Designer II will work directly with the Team Lead to guide the design team, providing strategic direction throughout the design process, ensuring the design vision is realized and goals are met efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Project Management: Begin to actively take on project management responsibilities for smaller projects while leading design and documentation processes.
    • Design Leadership: Demonstrate advanced skills in design and construction documentation; be able to lead teams and guide others in the design process.
    • Team Guidance: Collaborate directly with the Team Lead to provide direction to the design team, ensuring the design vision and client goals are met. Review work produced by designers and assist with design solutions and technical development. Provide mentorship and support to junior team members.
    • Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate effectively with consultants, ensuring alignment between teams and maintaining project goals.
    • Task Management: Distribute tasks to team members and self, ensuring deadlines are met and work is of high quality.
    • Consultant Coordination: Review and provide feedback on consultant drawings to ensure coordination and design integrity.
    • Technical Leadership: Take ownership of specific technical aspects of major projects, providing investigation, evaluation, and recommending design solutions that align with the client’s needs.
    • Specifications and Documentation: Prepare project specifications, including detailed FF&E specifications, and contribute to new or improved techniques as necessary. Experience in selecting and specifying FF&E for hospitality projects is a plus.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Educational Background: A professional degree from a CIDA-accredited university is preferred.
    • Licensure: Licensed or on the path to licensure preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design or a related field, with a strong focus on hospitality design.
    • Strong construction documentation skills and experience in construction administration.
    • Demonstrated experience in project management, design, and construction documentation.
    • Experience in FF&E specifications, particularly for hospitality projects, is essential.

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Revit and InDesign for presentations and documentation.
    • Strong skills in preparing detailed project specifications and documentation.
    • Ability to guide others in the design and technical aspects of projects.

    Leadership:

    • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
    • Experience in collaborating with internal teams, clients, and consultants.

    Soft Skills:

    • Demonstrates integrity and professionalism when interacting with stakeholders and clients.
    • Embraces inclusion by incorporating teammates’ ideas into the design process.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

    • Ability to prepare and present design concepts and ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders.

    • Hospitality Experience: Strong background in hospitality design, including the ability to develop innovative solutions for hotel lobbies, guest rooms, dining areas, and other hospitality spaces.
    • Experience in selecting and specifying FF&E for high-end hospitality projects, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functional performance.
    • Ability to collaborate directly with the Team Lead to guide the design team and project process, ensuring seamless execution of design goals and project timelines.
