The Foundry

The Foundry is an 11-acre master-planned community in Huntsville, AL, offering a dynamic mix of residential and retail spaces. Located just minutes from the city’s vibrant downtown, it shares a campus with The Range, a modern commercial office building.

Designed for walk-ability and connection, The Foundry blends small-town charm with urban convenience—creating a welcoming environment for residents, workers, and visitors alike. Smith Gee Studio led the design of eight distinct buildings on the site: four multifamily complexes, three townhome structures, and a retail shell (Taziki’s).

The architectural style draws inspiration from the adjacent Stovehouse development, incorporating industrial and warehouse aesthetics that complement the area’s character. Multifamily amenities include clubhouses, fitness centers, pet wash stations, and bike storage with on-site maintenance—crafted for everyday convenience and community living.
