Eastgate Mall is a classic example of a dead mall that exist in suburban locations across the country.  Once a thriving marketplace, the mall is now largely vacant with a low vacancy of third-rate tenants. The mall has exhausted its lifecycle as a single use facility and is now ripe for redevelopment. The rebirth of Eastgate can create a unique mixed-use district that meets the needs of the growing community. With a newly proposed vision for the mall district, Eastgate is on the cusp of finding itself poised for its own urban renewal.

Achieved through attentive and innovative collaboration with the community, SGS, with support from MSP Design, proposes a Plan that lays out an ambitious roadmap for an equitable, sustainable, and holistic revitalization with the support of residents, the township and future development partners. Proposed actions serve a wide range of community needs including investment in economic development and entrepreneurship, enhancement of parks, recreation facilities and programs creating a long-lasting value to the Township of Union.
