Set against the natural Red Rock Butte formations of Sedona, the existing 18-acre property was built in stages from the 70’s to the 90’s. SGS was engaged by the hotel’s new Ownership to reposition the property and transform it into a modern upscale private resort with a contemporary nod to the southwest. In addition to the renovation of all public, retail; food & beverage, meeting, and guestrooms, the sprawling site will be enhanced with new amenities featuring nature trails lined with local sculpture artists, a resort pool with private cabanas and outdoor bar, cooking venues and events lawn, private villas and multiple guestroom offerings.
The interior renovation incorporates neutral adobe plaster walls to feature the natural sunset colorations of the surrounding buttes surrounding the site. Limestone, natural wood, and terra cotta flooring will create a timeless setting throughout the public, retail, and restaurant/lounge areas. Custom millwork niches with open display were designed throughout the hotel to showcase local pottery, artifacts, found objects, basketry. Paying homage to the local artisans prevalent throughout the region, selected art will be showcased in gallery locations as well as colorful geometric southwest blankets for regional reference.
