Designed and occupied by Smith Gee Studio, 602 Taylor Street is a modern 2-story office building in historic Germantown Nashville. The building is orientated along the east/west axis and features a large canopy that wraps the entire building accentuating multiple tenant entry points. Peeling the exterior and transitioning into the interior architecture, the overhang creates a reflective light shelf which allows daylight to travel deep into the workspace.
Several core elements responding to a post-Covid-19 world were incorporated into the design during construction including an HVAC system with an integrated UV-based allergen & pathogen elimination system and touchless faucets, trash cans and air dryers. The interior design supports a world-class office with several conference rooms and open collaborative spaces, integrated technological components, and respects the industrial nature of its site with exposed structure and materials.
