    BIM Manager

    Develops, implements and operates systems in support of our professional design and production services. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills and an understanding of SGS’ Core Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Visionary, Engagement, and Inclusivity. This position will support team members who produce our project deliverables with a focus on excellence, accuracy and efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    • Must have experience with Revit and BIM 360.
    • General awareness of standard office practices and procedures to further develop efficient BIM SGS standards.
    • Conduct BIM/REVIT project kick-off meetings and facilitate the execution of BIM Plans throughout the project.
    • Coordinate with QAQC Team to achieve consistent, best practice driven results.
    • Perform routine, periodic model management administration and maintenance.
    • Provide over-the-shoulder training, developing, and shadowing of staff.
    • Content Creation and Management: Develop and maintain complex parametric Revit Families as needed; create and manage standard component libraries and folders, including Firm Standard and project-specific details, Revit families, and templates.
    • Conduct consultant BIM coordination meetings and provide support throughout the project.
    • Assist team with clash detection and provide troubleshooting as needed within models.
    • Must have experience in successfully leading design level BIM for projects.
    • Good interpersonal skills and relationship building.
    • Experience with or willingness to learn other design software, as needed.
    • Coordinate and manage procedures for delivery of electronic information such as deliverables to clients and consultants and periodic model exchanges using file-sharing software.
    • Develop, document, and implement project delivery methods for project deliverables based on Smith Gee Studio policies and industry best practices.

    Job Requirements:

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or engineering preferred.
    • Minimum of 4 years of job-related experience required using Autodesk Revit software.
    • Extensive knowledge of BIM/Revit Technologies as well as other analytical and design software applications.
    • Able to create BIM related parametric content and develop project templates.
    • Knowledge of standard operations, policies and procedures of a Firm within the A/E industry.
    • The ability to analyze, evaluate and problem-solve technical solutions to problems.
    • Solid understanding of computer system characteristics, features and integration capabilities.
    • General knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues.
    • Advanced communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
    • Ability to interact professionally and comfortably with a variety of personalities and communications styles.
