    2018 Year in Review

    As we embark on the New Year, we wanted to take a moment and reflect on all the awesome that happened in 2018 at Smith Gee Studio.

    So here we go, a Year-in-Review!

     

    -We added 6 new family members!

    Ron Yearwood, Rachel Elbon, Rachel Thornton, Elizabeth Kurtz, Brenda Geoghagan, and Laura Sherborne.

     

    -We had 2 babies!

    Mona had her little sleeping Ian and Scott had little Luke in the center, confused.

     

    -We got a new office puppy!

    Say hey to Biscuit.

     

    -We got married, twice!

    Congrats to Jesse and Lauren, and Johanna and Michael on beautiful SGS filled weddings.

     

    -We dressed up for Halloween!

     

    -We set up an snow cone stand in the middle of Broadway!

    As part of (Park)ing Day 2018.

     

    -We got recognized for being a great place to work for Emerging Professionals for the second year in a row!

     

    -We took a Pontoon Saloon around Cumberland!

     

    -We visited New York, Chicago, Miami, Greece, Quebec, Seattle, Ireland, Washington DC, Iceland, Los Angeles, Colorado, Hawaii, Italy and many more cities of design!

     

    -We got some sweet projects under construction!

    Including Harpeth Square, Harpeth Hotel, Kirkpatrick Park, 83 Freight, DoubleTree Hotel-Charlottesville, and Five Points Chattanooga.

     

    -We worked on our first high-rise project!

    Kenect Nashville is under construction.

     

    -We stole some gifts!

    At the Annual SGS Dirty Santa.

     

    -We got licensed!

    Congrats to Chris Owens for passing all of his exams.

     

    -We completed a lot of  exciting projects!

    Including Steel Barrel Brewery, Fairground Masterplan, Main & Clay, and Good Wood/Retrograde.

     

    -We won a few awards!

    Chris Owens took home the Excellence in Masonry Graphic Award , Ali Alsaleh took the Best Screenwriting award for a film he wrote and produced, and we got the ABC Award for River House.

     

     

    -We got the best seats in the house at the Sounds Stadium!

     

    -We played a few rounds of golf at Top Golf!

     

    -And We made the Jumbotron at Preds Stadium for their 10th game-winning streak!

     

    -We celebrated the year at our Holiday Party. Jonathan did in fact enjoy it.

     

    We had fun this past year, making new friends, designing new things, and engaging in our community. We’re pretty sure 2019 will be just as filling!

    And we hope your year is just as lovely!
